Orissa will become top steel producer: Naveen

BHUBANESWAR: CM Naveen Patnaik on Friday said Orissa was poised to become the country's top steel producing and most industrialized state in the

next few years. While speaking at the "Think Odisha Leadership Awards" function, an initiative of Tefla's and The Times of India and hosted by FRAME CSR, the CM said producing two million tonne of steel an annum was considered difficult a few years ago, but now around 10 million tonne of steel of different grades is being produced in the state. Patnaik gave away awards to playwright Manoranjan Das, sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik, bureaucrat-cum-writer T K Mishra, police commissioner B K Sharma, film personality Sarat Pujari, singer Sunanda Patnaik and athlete Anuradha Biswal. Acting Chief Justice of Orissa High Court I M Quddusi said social justice should be part of corporate social responsibility. He said corporate houses should take the initiative to address social problems.
